What's All This Talk About LIKETOKNOW.IT?
You may have noticed that in the last few months, I have been posting more images on Instagram that are tagged with a LikeToKnow.it link. Many fashion bloggers use the app to promote their wardrobes to their followers who want to know where they, too, can purchase that sweater, skirt, earrings, etc. But in the last couple of years, LikeToKnow.it has partnered with more and more brands for the home, too! This is something that is really exciting to me as a home design Influencer AND as a consumer.
When I first learned about the LikeToKnow.it app and saw fashion bloggers tagging their photos with these weird links to "shop this look in the LikeToKnow.it app," I was a little hesitant to immediately jump on board. I didn't know what this link was or how to use it or really why I should want to use it. After a little bit of research, I found out what all the talk was about and came to this conclusion: this really is an amazing app for all parties involved! Keep reading.
What is LikeToKnow.it? It's an app that you can download on your phone where you can get direct, clickable, shoppable links to products that you like. It's a one-stop-shop for the ever prolific question "Where did you get that?!" Download the app from the App Store or from Google Play here and follow me (homeandhabitatblog)!
How does LikeToKnow.it work? As an Influencer, I am able to upload a photo of my bedroom, for example, to the LikeToKnow.it app. Then, I can add direct links to the buyable products that you see in the photo (bedding, pillows, nightstands, lamps, art, etc.). From there, LikeToKnow.it generates a unique link that I then tag to the image (this is really like a tracking code). Then, I publish the image with the LikeToKnow.it enabled link to my social platforms: LikeToKnow.it, Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest.
Anyone who has downloaded the LikeToKnow.it app can shop all the products tagged in the photo simply by liking and screenshotting the photo and will have instant access to all the sources in that photo within the LikeToKnow.it app. You can sign up for free to receive an email of all the product sources (immediately, daily or weekly) or you can just open the LikeToKnow.it app on your phone and search for "Homeandhabitatblog." From my profile (here and shown above), you can click on any photo to see the product sources for the looks you like. For example, here's what it looks like when you click on the photo of our kitchen. In the app, you can click on any of the linked products and you will be redirected to the retailer's website.
Why should I use LikeToKnow.it? Like I said earlier, all parties involved benefit from using this app. Users benefit because they get a clickable, shoppable, direct link to the product that they like. Influencers (that's me!) benefit because they get a small commission when someone buys the product that they have linked. (As the user/customer, you do not pay a single penny more for the product when you buy through my LikeToKnow.it link than you would if you purchased directly from the retailer's website.) And brands have access to another way to market their product to the customer. It's a win win win! Many companies large and small designate a portion of their marketing budget for affiliate marketing (such as LikeToKnow.it) - that’s who is paying blogger’s commission. Not you!
Personally, I get so much inspiration from other accounts that I follow on Instagram; I wish every image that I liked on Instagram were enabled with a LikeToKnow.it link.
