How to Choose Art for Your Home

So many people feel paralyzed about choosing art to display in their home. Do the colors work with the wall paint and other decor? What size art works best on this wall? Framed or unframed? Do I really want to put nails in my walls? What if I get bored with the art I choose? All of these are valid questions and concerns. But at the end of the day, it is really very simple.

1. Like what you like.

2. Walls are super easy to spackle.

Don't worry about what's on trend. Or what you think you're supposed to like. Like what you like. If that's landscapes, go for it. Abstract art? Awesome. For me, I love incorporating art that is connected to memories. I especially appreciate unexpected art in unpredictable places around the house. And, my goodness, don't be paralyzed by the fear of nailing holes in your walls - be free from that! This spackle is your friend - prime and patch all in one product. Go ahead and get some if that will make it easier to poke holes on your walls.

My current art obsession is when portraits are incorporated into the design of every room in the house. Let me show you a few of my favorite inspiration photos:
