Regardless if you are shopping for adults or children, stockings can (and should) be fun and simple. It doesn’t need to be complicated, stressful or super expensive. Promise.

Last year, I published a gift guide on some great stocking stuffer gift ideas for him and her that were mostly from Amazon and geared towards adults. You can read that one here. Since shipping in time for Christmas is over tonight (12/20), I want to help you knock stocking stuffers off your to-do list with Target’s in-store pick up. That way, you can shop everything you will need to fill your family’s stockings, place the order online and pick everything up in store. So easy.

I think that stocking stuffers are actually pretty universal. Whether for an adult or a child, boy or girl, the general items in a stocking are the same: something they want, need, wear and read. With a few other little goodies sprinkled in, too. Just make sure everything is age appropriate!

Remember, Christmas is not about the stuff and things, Santa magic or even about family. It is so much deeper and more poignant than that. John Piper says that Christmas is the dawning of indestructible joy. I love that! Christmas is a day that we mark the arrival of our eternal God in our own frail humanity.

Jesus said, “I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full” (John 15:11). His joy was the very joy of God. He promises to put that in us. That is what the Holy Spirit does. He pours out the love of God in our hearts (Rom. 5:5), and with it the joy of God in God. (Read more here).

Happy Christmas to you, friend!
