Amazon Finds: Planters & Pots

The design of indoor planters and pots have come a long way, allowing for green thumbs of all shades to incorporate stylish plants in every room in their home. They look great on a bookshelf, in a corner by an arm chair or even on the kitchen counter. Picking the right pot for the plant and for the design of your home does not have to be overwhelming.

Backyard Deck Plan and Moodboard

It's no secret that John and I looooove spending time outside, especially when entertaining friends and family! We have dreamed for years about building a large deck off of the back of our house. A place where we can enjoy coffee in the morning, drinks and dinner al fresco and sit around a fire pit and enjoy the more mild months of the year.

Amazon Prime Day 2018: My Picks and the Best Deals

Happy Amazon Prime Day! It's Amazon's biggest sale of the year, similar to Black Friday, and it is only open to Amazon Prime members (does anyone not subscribe to Prime?). If you don't have an Amazon Prime subscription, you can get a free 30-day trial here so you don't miss out on the sale! The best part is that the sale is actually about a day and a half long. Here are some of my favorite picks from the sale so far - I'll continue to update this post with more deals throughout the afternoon and evening. Happy shopping!

Get on the Windowpane Trend Train!

One home decor trend of 2018 that I particularly LOVE is the geometric windowpane pattern. Sheets, blankets, curtains, throw pillows; I like the pattern just about anywhere. It's a fun way to make neutral, basic textiles a bit more interesting with a punch of texture.

Our 3rd Home Anniversary: The Good, the Bad and Would We Do it Again?

It was an exciting day but exhausting!

Using Instagram's Bookmark Feature and 15 Inspiring Accounts That You Should Be Following

Do you use the Bookmark feature on Instagram? I recently started using it and I have to say, It's such a convenient way to save images from Instagram that inspire me. I like to Bookmark things I find because, as you know, the Instagram algorithm changed a few years ago where you can no longer find content in chronological order on your feed. So if you saw an image an hour ago on your feed but don't remember the account that posted it, chances are very slim that you will ever find that image again.

A Summer Doormat to Freshen Up Your Front (or Back!) Door

It's so easy to become kind of blind to the routine things that you see everyday. Today, I saw my front doormat with fresh eyes and realized that it may be about time for a new one. While Target is usually my go-to for doormats because there are inexpensive and get the job done, there are other options that are just as affordable and every bit as stylish. I rounded up a list of some of my favorites ranging from super duper inexpensive to a bit of a splurge (would make for a great house-warming gift). You could even DIY your own - buy a plain mat and use a stencil, exterior paint and a foam stencil brush to customize to your heart's content! Just an idea.

How We Installed Schluter-Kerdi Shower System in Our Master Bathroom

I mentioned in yesterday's post that I want to share with you how we installed the Schluter-Kerdi waterproofing system and why we chose to go that route instead of another technique. The system is a pliable membrane and foam product that is used to waterproof wet areas in a bathroom. We decided to use this system because it is very DIY friendly (exact, easy to follow, instructions are on the website) and, frankly, nearly impossible to mess up.
